What It Is, What’s Changing, and How to Get Involved

In July 2027, ACGME Cloud Accreditation will launch, replacing the Accreditation Data System (ADS) with a single platform designed to make accreditation- and recognition-related activities simpler to complete, easier to navigate, and better connected to data and reporting. The goal is to preserve what works, improve what does not, and reduce unnecessary administrative effort, creating a more consistent experience for all stakeholders, including program and institutional leaders, faculty/staff members, and residents/fellows, as well as ACGME volunteers and staff members, while supporting clearer, more informed decision-making across graduate medical education (GME). The value is not ACGME Cloud itself, but what ACGME-accredited Sponsoring Institutions and programs, and the GME community are able to do because of it: Spend less time on administrative processes and more time focusing on education and patient care. |

What to Expect Between Now and the Go-Live Between now and July 2027, the ACGME will share timely updates, resources and opportunities for engagement through its established communication channels. Look for information in the ACGME e-Communication, ACGME Newsroom, and ACGME Cloud Support. Other outreach efforts will be provided at key points in the development process to support awareness, preparation, and participation throughout the transition. | |
