1. To set up the authenticator app, choose 'Authenticator App' as your preferred MFA method.
2. Download one of the supported following authenticator apps listed below on your mobile device. Important: Other authenticator apps may not work correctly with our system.
- Microsoft Authenticator app (Android | iOS)
- Google Authenticator app (Android | iOS)
- iPhone users: Passwords app
Keep the authenticator app installed on your device even after setup, as you will need it to generate verification codes each time you sign in.
3. Add your account to the app:
- Open the authenticator app and select "Add account" or "+".
- Choose the type of account (e.g., work or school, personal, etc.).
- Scan the QR code displayed on the account's security settings page.
- If you can't scan a QR code:
- Android Users: Tap “Can’t scan? Try this (only on mobile devices)”. This will take you to the phone’s default authenticator app and pre-populate the credentials.
- iPhone Passwords App Users: You must manually enter the credentials. The “Still having trouble?” button will work on desktop and mobile and will allow you to manually enter those values into the chosen authenticator app.

4. Confirm setup:
You may need to confirm the setup by entering a code from the app on your device.
5. Use the App for Sign-In:
- When signing in to your account, you'll typically be prompted to enter a code from the authenticator app.
- Open the app and find the corresponding account (e.g., Microsoft, Google, etc.).
- Enter the code displayed in the app.
- The code is usually valid for a short period (e.g., 30 seconds) and refreshes automatically.
